Halloween Fest event canceled

Due to the wide variety and number of events taking place on this date we have decided to cancel the event and encourage you to participate in one of the many great events taking place!

Milton reads! 2012 kicks off Saturday 9/15

Please join us this Saturday at the Milton Public Library Milton Reads! One Book One Town kick-off event!

Our selection To Kill a Mockingbird will be available for purchase ($5). You can sign-up for a book group, There will be activities for children and refreshments courtesy of the Friends of the Library.

Let’s start the conversation about Boo, Scout, Jem, Dill, and Atticus! Drop in between 2:00 – 4:00M. We look forward to seeing you!

What a surprise today in the inbox of MiltonReads2012@gmail.com, the email address of Milton Reads!, the new town-wide read sponsored by the Milton Public Library, Milton, MA.  Serendipity led a couple in South Africa to the Milton Reads! inaugural book selection, which is the beloved classic To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

TKM Committee announces program of events

The Milton Reads! 2012 Committee is pleased to announce a full slate of events for the first annual One Book One Town initiative including book discussion drop-ins, film screenings, festivities, and a closing symposium featuring a dialogue with U.S, Attorney Carmen Ortiz. Books on sale @ Friends Book Store

To Kill a Mockingbird, the Milton Reads 2012 selection is now on sale at the Friends of the Library Book Store for $5. Their summer hours are: Tues – 10:00am to 2:00pm, Wed 6:30pm to 8:30pm, Fri – 10:00am to noon, & Sat – 10:00am to noon.

Milton Reads! selects Harper Lee’s “To Kill a Mockingbird” for community wide read

The Milton Public Library is proud to announce an exciting new program Milton Reads! One Book, One Town is coming this fall. Milton Reads! One Book, One Town will encourage the entire town to read the same book, to participate in a variety of activities and programs around the book and its themes, and to join together in this fun and meaningful shared experience.

Milton Reads! 2012 – Coming this fall

Milton Reads is an initiative to engage the town of Milton in a shared cultural experience – reading a book together! Sharing the discovery of ideas, thoughts, opinions, and emotions that come with it.

Milton Reads! is joint production of the staff and trustees of the Milton Public Library along with The Friends of the Library. A number of organizations and businesses have already become part of the Milton Reads! family and we greatly appreciate their support and encouragement in this community effort.
